Description: Open Context is an open source discovery tool for the publication of data collected in Archeological and other field sciences by professional researchers. Users can access and reference raw data and images as well as on-site documentation and reports with over 200,000 individual records containing data and images currently available in the OpenContext database. There are currently 20 projects in 6 countries with available data listed on the project page; including Zooarchaelogical projects in Iran and Tel-e Malyan and Archaeomalacological projects in the Aegean. Open Context is committed to data portability and open access to cultural heritage data through the use of faceted searching and data granularity throughout their database.
